Carrie Dill

I have 20+ years of sales and business development experience with everything from early stage technology and Internet start-ups, to industry leading digital and traditional media companies.  I am originally from Northern and Central California and I attended UC Santa Barbara, where I studied English Literature.  After college, I worked for nearly 10 years with leading companies in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.  A passion for the mountains (inspired by childhood summers spent in Alaska) motivated me to move to Boulder Colorado in 1998 where I met my husband (Barney) in Denver soon after.  A majority of our courtship was spent in Vail and we fell in love with this area, deciding to get married in Cordillera (with Father Walter of ECOT) in 2005.  The desire to live in the mountains and to be part of a smaller community drove our decision to move to Edwards in January of 2007. We officially joined the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in 2009, after attending services for 2 years.   I am currently focused on raising our preschool aged daughter, working toward an advanced degree in nutrition and consulting with high-tech start-up companies.  I also volunteer regularly with ECOT’s children’s programs.

Jennifer Hill

I grew up in Golden Valley, Minnesota and was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church. Sunday school, services, choir, church camp and (a very small) youth group were important experiences in my early faith formation.

I graduated from Yale with a BA in Russian and East European Studies in 1997 and spent two years as a program officer working on foreign policy issues at Harvard University. I graduated from Columbia Law School in 2002, and practiced energy regulatory law in Washington, DC for two years before moving to Denver and marrying Aaron, a law school classmate. I continued my law practice for several more years, focusing on federal environmental permitting issues at a Denver firm.

The Episcopal Chaplaincy at Yale was a pivotal part of my college life, and I worshipped with a number of Episcopal and UMC congregations in each of the cities I lived in after college. When Aaron and I moved to Eagle four years ago, one of my first priorities was to find a church home.

Our first visit was to Transfiguration on All Saints Day in 2007, and this congregation has been a part of our lives ever since. Aaron and I were incorporated in May 2008. Each of our children, Susannah (5), Cassidy (3) and Thalj (1), was baptized here. Aaron and I are nursery volunteers and I have also served as a member of the Mission and Outreach Team, Eagle Simple Supper coordinator, Salvation Army liaison for Christmas activities, Annual Meeting parliamentarian, and on the Edwards Chapel transition committee.

I have experienced God’s presence at times when my twin sister and I were the only ones in our youth group, and in peaceful moments with a half-dozen college students at a mid-week service. However, at this point in my life it is a blessing and a joy to be part of a vibrant, growing, multi-generational community. It would be an honor and a privilege to serve on the Vestry of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration.

Paul LaLena

I was born on November 2, 1950 in Huntington, NY. I went to college in Miami and then finished BS and MS at University of West Florida in Sports Medicine where I did cardiac stress testing until I came here on vacation in 1981 and never left.

I have been with Beverage Distributors for the past 27 plus years where I did everything from sales to Mountain Director. I currently work for Bacardi and Jack Daniels. I have been married to Carole for the past 10 years and I am avid animal lover, we have a golden retriever and 2 cats, and I have a vacation home on Isla Mujeres where I spend all my vacations. Carole and I love the beach and go whenever we can. We also spend time in the Gulf Breeze area of Florida where Carole and I met.

We have been members of ECOT for the past 11 years. We also usher, sacristan and Carole is the clerk for the Vestry.

At my age and with all the help I have been given it is time that I can give back to the people and organizations that have helped me throughout the years and ECOT being one of them. The only negative is that I travel with my job and spend at least 6 weeks or so out of Colorado and at the beach!!!
